WESTWOOD CHURCH,
God is raising up laborers, 30 involved in Destined process, more
involved soon
Two years ago, Tim
was unclear about his own salvation. Recently he and his wife
invited the whole church to join them in the
process is mentoring others. He, his wife and 8 other people
shared their stories during the morning service about mentoring
30 others. Those who were unclear before are now free, and able to
help others. Soon 20 to 40 new people will also be in the process of
discipleship. Pastor Tom said, “Now we have more leaders who
share the Good News, do follow up and disciple others. I don’t have to
be everywhere or do everything

ENEMY ATTACKS;
1 Peter
5:8 The devil prowls around like a roaring
lion, looking for someone to devour...
1. Jan.13 Kelly was in the emergency room with
constricted airways and an allergic reaction. She passed out 6
times in the ambulance on the way there.Jan.16 she was in the
emergency room again for the same thing. Inhalation and
strep infection treatments seemed to
help. 2. Pastor Brian’s Dad attended the Big Buck Night
Jan.14. He was attacked with a flesh-eating bacteria Sunday and
died Monday Jan 16. 3.Pastor
Eric got hit with a bad sinus infection Jan.12-16. He could not
attend the event or church. 4. Since I returned home, overflowing
with gratitude for so many blessings, Ginger has also
experienced much more pain and other deep distresses the last
few weeks. Our family is facing some deep challenges
that need a lot of prayer.
5. Many of our leaders are being attacked in several
ways........

started on 1/3/06 at Guiding Light Mission as an "After Care Case
Manager" for 20 hours a week. He's also working to help Kurt
Loosenort with administrative functions part time during the week.

PARALYZED! “I feel like the guy whose
legs were paralyzed by cold in the Lake Superior Rescue Story. He tried to
get in your canoe, but couldn’t. I want to give my life to Christ, but
there’s this big struggle...” Will, a tough ex-marine said, “I
didn’t want to come to this retreat
because I knew I’d have to face some tough
issues in my life. Now I’m glad I did, Pastor Daren and other guys
really helped me... see that I need to take faith steps one at a time...”

Your partnership multiplied my effectiveness, and you share in this
fruit. Today, Pastor Dave, and Doug, introduced me to Dick, who
oversees all their small group leaders. He now sees Real Faith /
Destined as a real asset for his leaders, asked he can help get the word
to them... and plans to encourage them to attend the Mar. 19 accelerated
equipping.

Prayer Request 12/16/04:
My prayer
need is that God would make witnessing opportunities clear to me as I
travel internationally with my job. At this point, a more critical prayer
need is that things go well enough with my business that I can continue to
have these opportunities. The travel required by my work has made it
impossible to continue the small group I was leading, so I believe that
God wants me to keep my eyes open where I am, not where I was.

Praise 9/24/04:
1) God worked powerfully at the Men’s Ministry Event Sept.18. 60 guys
participated, and 48 guys rated the event, message and overview of the
men’s ministry at an average above 4.5 on a scale of 0- 5. 13 guys
expressed interest in giving or receiving Real Faith mentoring , and
around 12 more expressed interest in being in or leading a small group
studying Romans. If interested, ask me for the video of the motivational
message by Kurt, “Finding Treasure, Climbing Mountains”(25 minutes).
This highlights the wonderful treasures God offers us in the core
convictions about His reality, the trustworthiness of His word, adopting
us, forgiving, cleansing, empowering, and connecting us. It also has
a powerful segment from pastor Phil Niekerk about the value of mentoring
and faith, and an explanation of the Men’s Ministry by Pete Mayhak. It
may stir interest in these for a seeker, a person considering mentoring,
or help you explain how they connect to the mentoring process and other
areas of life.

really blessed, challenged and encouraged me. He was impressed by what
God is doing in your lives,
and wanted to spend a good part of Monday
just praying
for you and others important to me. He
really enjoyed
fishing in the Lake and river, with our
excellent friend and guide Mark Bennett
.
Praise 9/16/04:
My wife and I have been leading a
Bible Study for 2 years at our trailer park in South Haven and we had a 70
year old guy receive Christ about three weeks ago. He's meeting with me
now on a weekly basis to get discipled. God is good!

Prayer Request 8/30/04:
Pray for opportunities like this
one: Steve B. just called. “Kurt, I have 4
opportunities for different group involvement. I can only choose one. I am
motivated about sharing my faith , but I need to learn how...Tell me about
“Real Faith Mentoring.” He later said, “I am really excited about starting
the Mentoring...”
Dozens of guys like Steve are prepared by
God to upgrade their walk with God and ministry to others. Are we
ready to help them? Please pray about these, and the stronger
resolve towards mentoring the next generation,
and Application, Action, and Adventure each
month. The September 18 Kick Off Event will be a good example of
putting some of these principles into action. Our Real Savior wants
to bring Real Faith to Real Life...
He wants to do more in us and through us than
sitting around and talking about it.

Our burned van has
been replaced!
Friends gave us their
’95 full size Chevy van, very reliable and
well maintained, with many nice features.
It’s got some miles
on it, but you wouldn’t know it.
I’ve always
appreciated what you can do with full size vans, and really enjoy
driving this one.

IMMEDIATE PRAYER NEEDED
May 25th
Ginger called at
3:30, “There’s smoke coming out of the van” At
3:32
she called again,
“A lady told me,
‘You better get out your car. It’s on fire!”
When I got
there at 4, the fire department was still killing hot spots in several
places. We wish this had
happened to our ’97 Astro van before the rebuilt engine and
transmission.
We are so glad
this didn’t happen to Kelly, Rosa and Kurt C. as they drove this
van to join us June 8 -14 in the U.P. We are asking you
to pray for us to have God’s wisdom, peace, and grace. While it will
be okay in the long run, and it could have been much worse,...

This just FEELS
very upsetting, in combination with some other big challenges, and
special opportunities, just ahead.
So we are seeking
to practice the principles in sessions 8 and 9 of Real Faith,
especially giving thanks in all things, (even some confession, early
on).

6/22/04:
My
finger, neck, A/C joint are in process of healing. The wound has
closed, the throbbing doesn’t wake me up much, I can move and bend it a
little... I bumped it last week and felt/heard something snap loose again,
but after several
days, it settled down a little. I’m having my A/C joint and neck
checked by a Orthopedic Dr. June 30, the same day they start forcing my
finger to flex a little at time.
6/5/04-Doc
says “OK, no spread of infection, no need for surgery ” this a.m.
leaving 1 pm Sat. for speaking and training counselors, in Keweenaw
County, U.P. hoping many lives will touch many more

6/3/04-1 Thess. 5:16 .”rejoice always, give thanks in all things we’ve
been studying it , now it’s time to live it. Good news; no
corrective surgery for index finger now, “Too late, should have been done
May 30”according to hand specialist exam today.”
5/31/04-Kurt
crashed head first on a bike; God still works!

GOOD NEWS: thank you for

1. Dave VG is getting
the picture. “Now I see that if I know my eternal destination, Heaven,
then it affects every other area of my life here and now... The most
important thing is getting salvation, that relationship with God, figured
out,,, I want to do that , but really mean it , from the heart... Mike ,
how did you start your relationship with God?”

group is EAGER to learn more about waliking in the power of the Holy
Spirit.

blessed anniversary day. Brunch with Kelly Rosa, Kurt C.
I
rented my brother’s Vette, we visited places from our past, church where
we were married etc. dinner at Bilmar’s, beach...very grateful!
4. Was able to secure
appointments with doctors Thursday to assess need for surgery on left
index finger
if necessary may be able to squeeze in surgery Fri aft before U.P
training... (Ambulance driver and e room dr. both said they had
never seen such a bad multiple dislocation. Bent backwards so far
the skin on bottom of middle knuckle split like bratwurst, could see bone
inside...

to pray for God's provision for a vehicle for Kurt (fire photos above).
Praise! for Ginger's safety throughout the ordeal!

Ginger's friend in Brazil:
"We’ve had
seven people saved lately at church. I have them “go forward”. I learned
that from the wonderful Billy Graham! Isn’t the love of Jesus something
wonderful? This is seven in roughly the last seven weeks. How we
rejoice!"
Prayer Request:
5/5/04-Two
friends died this weekend. The loss of these fellow faith warriors, Jean
Grifhorst, and Albert Samuel, hurts deeply. They will be sorely missed.
Their families’ and friends’ faith will be
tested during their grief. My life is richer because of their lives.
My faith is strained by their loss. I prayed great faith prayers for
Albert’s healing. No healing. That confuses me.
He prayed, often with tears, that God would
provide for his wife and daughter. Will his wife and daughter be
deported to India? Who will care for them?

5/5/04-This
morning as I prayed for each of you, and me, I realized again:
NOW IS THE TIME TO STRENGTHEN FAITH.
Now is the time to
pray
for each other, to encourage each other. John 16:33 In this world
we WILL have tribulation,,,
Oh,
God help us trust YOU, NOW, so we have the joy only YOU can provide.
If we wait until the tribulation or trial to strengthen faith, it’s
tough going. NOW is the time to be clear
about salvation, foundations, faith building discipleship...
