TEAMWORK, POWER TOOLS, RETAINING WALL; 7/30, 8/1

We had a need. God and they had a solution.

The gate and retaining wall leading to our back yard were too narrow to drive through with a truck. This limited firewood, moving, parking, and many other needs.

I can help people with faith building, but wall building is tough for me.

Todd Vela offered to coordinate a team of helpers.

Don Vaas, Shane Herrema, volunteered power

equipment and time to remove the old wall

(6x6 timbers) and trees on Friday . My brother

Steve and neighbor kid Chris were hired to help

remove timbers and remove the old fence along

the top. Standard Lumber donated many timbers.

By Friday night, the old was gone. The team,

tools & trucks made such a difference!

By Saturday night the new had come. Todd and his

team installed the new 6x6 timbers, some of them

28 feet long, during most of Saturday.

Love in action has gotten our neighbors’ attention.

They have noticed how many times people have

been so helpful. The family of God intrigues them

as they see the body of Christ working together.

We sure are grateful. With so many other projects,

I might not have gotten to this one until next year. I kept wondering why these busy people were taking time out of their lives to help us.

All I can do is say “thank you” with my life.

I hope that in some way I will help others remove barriers now holding them back. Maybe in some way we can help build their faith, or connect them with a team and powerful tools that will help change their lives.

CANADA RETREAT, FISHING FOR MEN, TROPHIES

1 Thess.2:8 “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the Gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.”

How can we share our lives with people, connecting with them beyond scheduled meetings, like Jesus and Paul did?

Firesides, travel time, adventures, fishing, with Kurt K, Greg, and Brian brought Real Faith principles into real life in Canada last weekend. In some ways it would take 4 months of weekly meetings to grow as much as we did in those 4 days.

Thanking God, by faith, for expectations not being met, sharing the word with loons calling in the background, singing praises that echo across quiet waters which mirror the fire in the clouds of sunset, feeling a sense of awe at God’s creation... How we hunger for more of God’s revelation...

We didn’t catch a lot of fish, and I’m a rookie

with walleye, so I am extra grateful for

catching an 11# walleye, 31”, 17” girth.

The guys put me in the right place with

the right equipment, with good advice

for this fish of a lifetime.

I hope I can help people fish for men

more effectively with good teamwork,

tools, and training, so they can

experience the joy of seeing people

receiving Christ.
